8/16/2018: I'm continuing to work on the marketing series of courses, which have now been split into three separate courses to make it a bit more sane. The first course will cover club rescue, which will focus on making sure your club is in good shape. After that, the second course will cover getting people to know, like, trust, and try your club (which is covered by the PR committee). The final course will cover what to do once people decide to buy, focusing on helping them get through the new member period and increasing the likelihood of getting them to be repeat members.

I'm currently working on a lesson in the first course called The Online Audit, which guides you through making sure your online presence is clean, and completed a majority of it.

The "marketing trilogy" (still hidden until done) has had it's sections cleaned up with descriptions inserted (there was a lot of cleanup after splitting out the courses to do). Next up will be steadily adding text content to them; once that's ready I'll open them up and add more activities and hopefully video (I recently bought a new video editing package as well as screen capture tool, so that should make the process more doable).

Ideally I'll open up Club Rescue by the end of September, Marketing by October, and Retention by November. Stay tuned...

Progress continues on the marketing trilogy; I'm focusing on the club rescue course to get it (mostly) done by the end of September. The wait should be worth it; you'll get all new tools and strategies for being your own club coach.

Quick updates:

  • Added a Credits & Conclusion section to existing classes. You can find out how to support me and the development of these courses in them as well as some of my sources.
  • Added a new tip sheet for getting through your first Pathways project in the Members course. If you are having trouble navigating your first (or second, or third...) Pathways project, this should help.
  • The "baseline" (read: text lessons and resources) material for Club Rescue is about 60-70% done.

I've opened up the first of the RDG Marketing series, though it's not quite finished. Due to outside events I haven't had the time to finish the baseline content as I would've liked, so I'm going to push the time table back a bit. There is still plenty to take in and get started on already, so go ahead and dive in to the new content.

Sorry it's been a while since I've updated here. Not a lot of new material has been finished, but the site is now on a new server and I've updated the software this site is based on. Going to try getting back to producing content soon.

The backend for the server has been upgraded to Moodle 3.6.3+.

Work has been done on the Club Rehab course; it's almost ready to not be in Beta status. (I promise it's not meant to be perpetual) I've also done a little work on some of the courses that follow it as well as cleaned up some of my notes for the material that I want to put in.

Once the text lessons are in, I plan to start adding other types of content.

DID YOU KNOW? You can use the Moodle App to access the courses here (account creation is required, however). First, download the app to your mobile device. Then, register an account while on your desktop. Then, open the app and use http://saturnforge.com/extras/learn/ as the URL. Enter your URL & password when prompted, and you should then be able to access the course material here. This is great when you're learning a role!

The underlying software (Moodle) has been updated to 3.7+. Still working on the marketing and retention courses.

Made the decision to change the PDG label to RDG (Really Dang Good) in light of the existing PDG label (Past District Governor). Should help turn these courses up in Google better.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I haven't been keeping up on this project.

The site is now on a new server. Moodle has been updated to 3.10. PHP updated to 7.4.15.

The site is now accessed over https so it's more secure as well.
