2. IPP Roles & Responsibilities In-Depth

  • Attends and participates in executive committee meetings.
  • Provides guidance for the executive committee in operational leadership of the club.
The IPP should act as an advisor for executive committee meetings. An ongoing negotiation between the current president and the IPP will be needed to determine how far that guidance goes, to prevent toes being stepped on. The newer the president, the more guidance may be needed, but the IPP should defer to the president's decision.

  • Mentors the current President.
The need for this will, of course, depend on the levels of experience for the IPP and the new president. Given that the president needs it, one-on-ones should be scheduled on a monthly basis, at least for six months.

  • Chairs nominating committee.

The IPP should refer to the Club Leadership Handbook for details on this process. It should be started two months out from the due date.

Because the IPP is less involved than other officers, there's no need for a two week plan.
