You're going to need someone to manage funds to pay for awards, TI fees, and more. The treasurer fits this role. Learn how to be a money master in this lesson.
3. What's In It for You?
The treasurer role is very good for those who either want to learn or practice not just managing money, but the following:
- Customer service. You will be the one to get applications and dues payments in for new members, and also get renewing members paid up for the next term.
- Motivational and persuasion skills. Getting people to renew can sometimes be a challenge, and you'll need to be able to sell them on the benefits of getting those dues in.
- Record keeping and organization skills. Keeping track of who's paid what, by when.
